Brazil's federal oil company Petrobras has launched a tender to contract an offshore drilling rig automation solution.
The aim is to automate repetitive tasks carried out by the driller and the driller's assistant by virtualizing the commands sent to the equipment (drilling winch, iron roughneck, pipe handling systems, rotary table, top drive, mud pumps, among others) on the offshore rigs for drilling and pipe handling. According to the company, by automating the driller's actions on the equipment controls (available on the driller's chair), it is possible to increase the safety of operations and the rig's performance, as well as improving consistency in the execution of activities.
The solution must offer remote monitoring and tracking of the rig's tubulars, with the existing equipment safety systems.
The solution will be installed on a drilling rig contracted by Petrobras, equipped with NOV's drilling equipment package.
The tender documents are available on Petrobras’ procurement website Petronect, under ID number 7004176458. Bids may be submitted through October 27.
Petrobras has also published tenders for the chartering of offshore support vessels.
Bidding process 7004179080 calls for the contracting of up to 20 platform supply vessels.
Tenders 7004178825 and 7004178826 involve chartering 12 oil spill recovery vessels and one anchor handling supply vessel.
Meanwhile, tenders 7004177884, 7004177885, 7004177886, 7004177887, 7004177888 and 7004177889 involve subsea dive support vessels.
