Brush Fire Breaks Out Above Sunset Strip In The Hollywood Hills | Hollywood, CA Patch

HOLLYWOOD, CA — Firefighters knocked down a half-acre brush fire that was burning above the Sunset Strip Wednesday. The blaze threatened multi-million-dollar homes in Hollywood Hills West, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The fire was first reported just before 1:30 p.m. on Metz Place, just north of Mels Drive-In in Sunset Plaza. The fire was burning on a steep slope between several homes, according to the LAFD. Brush Roller for Sanding

Firefighters from the LAFD and LA County Fire Department successfully worked for about 80 minutes to stop forward progress of the blaze and protect structures from the fire, according to the LAFD.

Crews planned to remain on scene Wednesday afternoon to eliminate and hotspots and smoldering debris, firefighters said.
