The perfect spring day trip in Sydney: A magical daisy field in Mount Annan

With spring in full swing, sightseers are rushing to a stunning botanical garden as its famous daisy field is back in bloom. 

Hundreds flock to the Australian Botanical Gardens in Mount Annan, an outer Sydney suburb just 50 minutes from the city, each year to see the spectacular daisy fields. 

As the weather warms up, a sea of more than one million West Australian paper daisies bloom to cover almost 2,000sqm of the venue's Connections Garden. 

Paper daisies will stay in bloom from September until around the end of October so you better be quick if you want to experience their magic. 

Magical snaps and video of the yellow, pink white and lilac florals at their best time of year have been flooding social media.

TikToker Maria, shared a clip of her visit to the 'hidden daisy field' in Mount Annan's botanical gardens wowing thousands. 

'I would literally be in heaven,' one viewer said. 

'Our local and it always looks so pretty,' another replied and a third added: 'So stunning'. 

While many Sydneysiders thought the enchanting attraction was no secret, others said they weren't aware it was so close to the city. 

'I've lived here almost my entire life and had no idea,' one viewer commented.

Paper daisies are native to Western Australia and are rarely seen outside the state but are one of the botanical garden's most popular attractions. 

The seeds are planted at the gardens in May and carefully tended to throughout the following months with their flowering marking the beginning of Spring.

Visitors will enjoy a feast for the senses as a kaleidoscope of colours, sounds of buzzing bees and floral scents fill the enchanting space.

Mount Annan's Australian Botanical Garden are also home to an array of native flora gardens, dreamy picnic spots, wildlife, and walking and bike trails.

The garden is open every day of the year from 8am to 5pm and is completely free to enter.
