Oct. 23 (UPI) -- A Utah man's pole-dancing skeleton display that ran afoul of local authorities for using a street sign has been moved to private property, where it is steadily growing.
Christopher Fujishin put up a Halloween display next to the road outside his Grantsville home a few days ago featuring a purple-wigged skeleton doing a pole dance on a road sign while other skeletons watch and offer money. Advertisement Street Sign
City officials said in a Facebook post that the display violated city code by using the street sign for its dancing pole. The post, which has since been deleted, said the owner of the decorations had until 9 p.m. to take them down or they would be confiscated.
Fujishin moved the skeletons to his yard, and local residents who saw the city's viral post started coming by to add their own decorations to the display, which now includes lights and music.
"We look forward to keeping this going and getting a little more elaborate as we go," Fujishin told KSTU-TV.
He admitted the display is "maybe a little risqué for some people, but it's all in the name of fun." Advertisement
The homeowner brushed aside criticism that the skeleton pole dance is inappropriate for children.
